How this list is made

Order: estimated monthly U.S. organic search visits (Semrush, U.S. database), largest first. The estimate counts visits arriving from search results, not a site's total audience.

What is measured. Semrush estimates how many visits a domain receives each month from U.S. search results, from its own keyword and click models; we read the figure for every domain on this page from Semrush's U.S. database on September 17, 2026, together with Semrush's rank of the domain among all U.S. domains. The figure is an estimate by a third party, printed as such; it is not a traffic count from the site itself.

Who is on the list. News and opinion sites whose perspective sits on the right of American politics and that say so themselves: the site's own About page, mission statement or masthead describes it as conservative, right-of-center, libertarian, free-market, or as an alternative to a left-leaning press. Those words are quoted under each name. Sites that describe themselves as nonpartisan or as non-aligned are left out, whatever others call them, because the rule is the site's own words.

What is not claimed. A search-visit estimate is not a readership figure, and a rank on this page is not a judgment of quality or accuracy. The Ledger has no commercial relationship with any site listed; inclusion is not endorsement in either direction.

Where the measurements come from

  1. Semrush Domain Overview — U.S. database (estimated monthly organic search traffic; domain rank) — Semrush ·
  2. Each site's own About page, masthead or mission statement (quoted under its name, with the address it was read from) — The Conservative Ledger — method ·

Questions readers ask

What is the most-read conservative news site?

By Semrush's estimate of monthly U.S. search visits on September 17, 2026, the largest site on this list was Fox News. The estimate counts visits from search results only; no site on the list publishes a comparable audited figure for the same month.

Why is a well-known conservative site missing?

Either it describes itself as nonpartisan or independent rather than conservative — the list follows a site's own words — or its estimated U.S. search audience was below the threshold of 1,000 visits a month on the day of measurement, or it could not be read. Suggestions go to the editor.

Does the Ledger endorse these sites?

No. The list is a measurement with links to each site's own pages. It is not a recommendation, and no site paid or asked to be included.
